چکیده

This paper addresses investigation of the corrosion behavior of copper bearing anodes with high nickel content. Anodes are produced from different solid wastes formed during the copper or nickel row materials treatment. Nickel content in anode samples had values up to 10 mas %. The content of tin, lead and antimony was up to 1 % for each of elements. Sulphuric acid solution, concentration of 172 g/l was used as electrolyte for corrosion behavior investigation. The corrosion behavior of anode samples was defined by using the anode linear potential sweep method. Obtained results showed that the pasivation of anode in sulphuric acid solution is not registered during the process with current density up to 200 mA cm2.

INVESTIGATING THE PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF HIGH-COPPER AND SILVER DENTAL-FILLING AMALGAM ALLOYS

Abstract: The aim of the present investigation is to study the physical and mechanical characteristics of dental-filling spherical high-copper and silver amalgams and to compare them with a common high-copper domestic unicompositional amalgam. In this study, cylindrical specimens were mechanically condensed according to the ISO 1559:1986 Standard in order to measure the compressive strength, Vi...

Dealloying and Stress Corrosion Craking of Copper Alloys in Cu(I) Solutions

Natural cases of dealloying or stress-corrosion cracking in copper alloys normally occur in oxygenated solutions, where the cathodic reactant is O2 or Cu2+. Within cavities or under deposits, the local environment is enriched in cuprous ions (e.g. CuCl2-, Cu (NH3)2+) and the potential is close to the Cu/Cu+ equilibrium. Such conditions can be simulated macroscopically by stirring powdered Cu2O ...

In Vivo Corrosion of Two Novel Magnesium Alloys ZEK100 and AX30 and Their Mechanical Suitability as Biodegradable Implants

In magnesium alloys, the components used modify the alloy properties. For magnesium implants in contact with bone, rare earths alloys are commonly examined. These were shown to have a higher corrosion resistance than other alloys and a high mechanical strength, but their exact composition is hard to predict. Therefore a reduction of their content could be favorable. The alloys ZEK100 and AX30 h...

Electrochemical and Spectroscopic Study of Benzotriazole Films Formed on Copper, Copper-zinc Alloys and Zinc in Chloride Solution

The formation of protective layers on copper, zinc and copper-zinc (Cu-10Zn and Cu-40Zn) alloys at open circuit potential in aerated, near neutral 0.5 M NaCl solution containing benzotriazole (BTA) was studied using potentiodynamic measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The addition of benzotriazole affects the dissolution of the m...

Influence of the Alloying Elements on Uniform and Pitting Corrosion Events Induced by SCN- Anions on Al-6061 and Al-Cu Alloys Surfaces

The electrochemical and corrosion behaviour of Al-6061, Al-4.5%Cu and Al-7.5%Cu alloys were studied in 0.50 M KSCN solution at 25 C. Open-circuit potential, Tafel polarization and ICP-AES measurements were used to study the uniform corrosion process on the surfaces of the tested alloys. Cyclic polarization measurements were employed for pitting corrosion studies. Obtained results were compared ...
